Running Chkdsk from Command prompt

ChkDsk command can be run in two ways

a)Running ChkDsk without fixing the errors

To run ChkDsk without fixing the errors just type chkdsk in the command
prompt

b)Running ChkDsk with Fix Parameter

To run ChkDsk with the intention of fixing the errrors just type chkdsk /f
and Click on Enter

It will indicate the Type of file system being used. and then it will ask

“ChkDsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process .Would
you like the Schedule to this Volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts”(Y/N)

Type Y

Then this message will appear

The Volume will be checked the next time the System restarts
